Dear Friend
The touring
theatrical entity of Jah Kente International, Inc. would be proud to
bring the production
"Redemption
Ritual"
to your organization.
"Redemption
Ritual"
was performed at the Corcoran Gallery of
Art in Washington, D.C. as part of the museum's public
program series, presented by both the Fort Wayne County
School System and the African American Historical Society in Fort
Wayne, IN, The James Weldon Johnson Community School of the
Arts at the Michigan Park Christian Church, Washington, D.C. and
more recently at The Martin Luther King, Jr. Library's City-Wide
Black History kickoff Feb. 2002, Washington, D.C. Poems by
great African American writers like Sterling Allen Brown, Robert
Hayden, Langston Hughes, Richard Wright, Margaret Walker and James
Weldon Johnson are performed using performance art with song and
dance, accompanied by instruments from the continents of Africa and
North America.
Our theatrical
entity is a vibrant multi cultural performance arts company that
specializes in the recitation of American Classical African and
Occidental Poetry. The company promotes racial healing through
spiritual evocation of the common ancestral experiences of slavery
for Americans of both African and European descent.
We welcome the opportunity to share
"Redemption
Ritual"
with your organization. Information on our presentation is
enclosed. Should you need more information, please contact me at
the offices of Jah Kente International, Inc. 202.829.5922.
Sincerely,
Rufus T.
